What we do is beyond the idea of providing internet connection for Liberia People. It is an opportunity to see the bigger picture, an opportunity to advance, and an opportunity to challenge

Purpose

Making 40 in 2021 Real

The purpose of the Liberian Interagency Task Force and Advisory Group (LIATAG) is to help catalyze Liberian interagency, civil society and industry cooperation.  The objective is to facilitate and coordinate private, public, and NGO investments to enable Liberia Internet penetration to exceed 40% as soon as possible.  The target of 40% by 2021 is very ambitious. We know that; and we know it is not impossible. The economic and social benefits are obvious as a more connected and wealthier Liberia creates more economic opportunities for citizens and investors, improves health and well-being, and improves the functioning of the public sector.

LIBERIA Vision

Liberia's Current Situation

By the time Liberia's civil war ended in 2003, the country had lost nearly all of its' ability to provide electricity to over four million Liberians. The current internet penetration in Liberia is approximately 8.4%. Low Internet penetration in Liberia is a brake on Liberia's development, experts in the sector confirm. This damages both the economy and society, and is especially dangerous in case of emergency.  New technology such as the Internet Backpack and multistakeholder cooperation can enable Liberia to leap ahead, for everyone to benefit.
